HOW TO: Make a silhouette
An excellent addition to wedding invitations or décor, silhouettes are a Victorian tradition But how do you make them? Here’s a guide.
1. Take a profile photograph of your subject standing in a doorway or in front of a window, so they’re backlit.
2. Print the photograph in the size you want.
3. Cut around the subject’s head so you’re left without any background. (Don’t forget to leave a little of the shoulder area.)
4. Trace the cut-out onto black construction paper and cut it out again.
5. Trim the shoulder area.
